Meet Our Founder

John Meyer with Councilwoman Lauran Hughes Leslie in support of mobility access for local veterans.

John Meyer is a Vietnam War Army veteran who founded AARV in 2018 after seeing firsthand the growing need among homeless and at-risk veterans.

He built AARV on one belief:
No veteran should be left without mobility.

What We Do

Identify a Verified Need

We receive and verify mobility requests through families, caregivers, and local veteran networks.

Secure the Right Equipment

Through community donations and partnerships, we purchase or refurbish mobility scooters and wheelchairs.

Deliver Directly to the Veteran

Each device is coordinated and delivered with dignity, restoring independence and daily mobility.

In many cases, devices are delivered within days of approval.

AARV operates through a dedicated group of volunteers and community partners.
